And we are back with yet another blog talking about the make-up trends that transpired in the last decade!
In case you do not know of the previous one’s head to our blog to read A Decade of Makeup Part 1 to give yourselves an update. Moving on, we talk about the next five years of the decade. Makeup is a great way to achieve confidence and also make sure you manage your look according to your event. You can definitely use them with a bit of tweaking or just use one trend.
2015: INSTAGRAM MAKE UP
The popular social media medium, Instagram is famous for many make up videos, influencers who show case a massive range of make up and just basically aesthetically taken photos. Instagram make up was initiated by Kylie Jenner. True to their family’s reputation of setting up trends. Kylie Jenner started this trend on Instagram where she started posting selfies of perfectly shaped eyebrows, highlighter on fleek and her full lips covered with matte lipstick. This has since become almost like a religion in most if not all influencers and even people who aren’t influencers.
2016: UNICORN
Colourful make up became an eh remark in most cases. The whimsical make up is what everyone started aiming for. Basically, mystical creatures were ruling the hair and make up industry! Confused? The colours that mythical creatures such as unicorns, mermaids were being the inspiration for the colours used. The colours of violet, teal green, neon pink and yellow were some of the colours which people were looking for in their make up and hair colour too!
2017: K-BEAUTY BECOMES POPULAR
K-pop isn’t the only thing famous about South Korea (had to specify because well North Korea has Kim Jong Un. NO OFFENCE!!) K-beauty products made an appearance in USA and it blew them away! From their face masks and their cutesy packaging design they had us sold!
2018: BROW BRO
2015 saw us perfecting our eyebrows and our makeup. 2018 saw a more specific trend take place. Managing your brows. Microblading was basically tattooing your eyebrows in place. It is probably the first tattoo a lot of people have put on their body. Microblading also helps keep your overplucked eyebrows in shape and place for about a year or two. So, the struggle to get the perfect eyebrows is done with.
2019: SKINCARE
We are doing a full circle when it comes to 2019. Skincare and making sure your skin is hydrated became cool again! (go figure!) Having a detailed, skin-loving routine for your make up to show up better is what became very popular. Your skin’s condition will define how good the make up will look so make sure you invest in it always.
And with that an end to a glorious decade has come. We have seen many trends come and go, many trends which stayed and some which made a comeback! Make up for most part of it has become an integral part of our lives. And the internet making everything available cosmetize.com helps you get these products easily.
